My review…
I’m excited to share about the new CSB Jesus Daily Bible. Each year, I read through the Bible. I generally find a reading plan online, but with this Bible, it’s already set up to be read daily.Â
There are various versions of this Bible. The one I reviewed is the blue hardcover edition with gold embossing. This translation of the Bible is the Christian Standard Bible version. The font is a bit small for my preference, but it is still easy to read. The pages are thinner than I would have liked, as I do like to take notes in the Bible. There is space on the side of the pages where you could journal, but there are no lines, unfortunately. While I have not tried it, I believe there would be some ghosting. Therefore, I would be more likely to use separate journal for this and just highlight relevant portions in the Bible itself. Bible is somewhat heavy, as it does have close to 2,000 pages. However it does lay flat quite nicely.
The setup Of this Bible is a devotional study. You can start at any time of the year, as the days are numbered and not connected to the calendar days. The entire Bible is divided into 52 weeks, with each week having five days of readings. The readings are somewhat lengthy, but the way this is structured allows readers to have two days to catch up on the readings, if needed. does have the reader going straight through from Genesis to Revelation, sticking with readings from just one book each day, As opposed to having daily readings from various books, which is common in many daily Bible study plans. There are also some explanations for things, which can add to understanding of what is being read.
At the start of the Bible is an introduction, written by a professor and pastor, along with a bit about keeping Christ at the center of God’s Word. There’s also a detailed section about the format of the book, along with the Daily Reading Plan checklist. A ribbon bookmark is a handy addition.
At the beginning of each book of the Bible, an overview of that book is laid out, along with the five reading plans for the week. There is also a section called “Where will I find Christ in this week’s reading?” There is also an overview of the book provided which states who wrote the book, what the focus is, when it was written, where it was written, and why it was written. I found this information to be extremely informative, and it is something that is not included in many basic Bibles. At the back of the book is an extensive concordance, along with a nice selection of colored maps.Â
If you are interested in reading the entire Bible in a year, this is a good option to consider.

I don’t really have a favorite book of the Bible. I do like reading in Psalms and Proverbs but I like reading some of the smaller books of the NT as well.
I enjoy those books, as well. Good luck, Joy.
If I had to choose just one book to be a favorite, I’d have to pick Daniel! I’ve my Bible through every year but one since I was in high school. Last year, I read it through three times! I use different translations each time. This sounds like a great resource!
Wonderful! I like to read different translations, too. I switch every few years. I love the perspective it gives me. Good luck, Trudy!
Hi,
I’ve been blessed to have had an amazing experience of studying the Bible led by a gifted man, a professor at the Divinity School of Duke University. Unlike most academics, The Reverend Dr. James M. Efird, Mickey, realized early on God’s plan for him was to bring the word of God to everyday people. His classes were great, relaxed like being in someone’s living room. We studied one book at a time, going verse by verse. Mickey was professor of biblical languages including Arabic, Greek and Hebrew. Because of my chronic pain and other chronic conditions I haven’t been able to study the Bible like back in the day before Dr Efird retired, this CSB study edition looks like it will be a fantastic and helpful study aid for both individual and group Bible study.
Wow. That’s wonderful that you had him to learn from. It sounds It was a wonderful experience. I understand what you’re saying about chronic pain and illness. I do think this could be a wonderful study aid for individual or group studies. Good luck, Susan!
I think my favorite book of the Bible is Proverbs because of the wisdom and life lessons that still apply today.
So true! That’s one of my favorites, as well. Good luck, Danielle!
