Hope-Filled Sunday!
Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.
Distractions! They’re everywhere, aren’t they? And I don’t know about you, but I’ve found that I’m even more distracted these past couple years. Sadly, I even got distracted while writing this. (Thankfully I remembered before I posted it!
Things to distract us are everywhere in today’s society. It’s easy to get caught up in a number of tasks and forget what our priority for the day should be. If we’re not careful, distraction can easily sabotage our well-laid plans.
Jesus faced distractions, too. And He would go away, alone, to pray and spend time with His Father. Share on XIÂ long ago designated the first thing in the morning as my devotional time. That way, if the rest of the day goes sideways, I know I prioritized scripture reading and time with God. That’s the most important thing I can do each day. And all the other things on my to-do list that end up getting checked off for the day are just bonuses! By spending time with our Heavenly Father each day, He’ll help us take care of what we need to do for ourselves and others, despite the distractions we might face along the way.Â
Lord, help us to always keep our focus on You. Amen.
