Hope-filled Sunday!
Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.
Peace.
The Christmas season evokes many images of peace: Jesus, the reason for the season. The lights. The quiet winter nights looking out on a snow-filled lawn. It all paints a peaceful scene. However, for many, this time of year may be anything but peaceful.
Holidays tend to bring about feelings that everything needs to be perfect. For those of us who live with chronic pain and illness, and perhaps anxiety on a regular basis, those unrealistic expectations bring along additional stressors which can increase our pain. This time of year can also lead us to worry that we won’t be able to get it all done, that we will be unable to enjoy time with our loved ones, or that our illness may be a burden to others. The list goes on and on.
Fear and worry can often threaten to overwhelm us, and not just during the holiday season. Thankfully, there is a weapon that can be used to help combat this: prayer.
Scripture encourages us to take our concerns—every single one of them—to the Lord in prayer.
Today’s verse reminds us to take every situation to God. And 1 Peter 5:7 says “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us.” So what are you waiting for? Throw them His way, and let Him carry your burdens.
Prayer releases powers greater than we can imagine. Share on X And through faith, we can experience freedom from worry, as well as God’s peace in our hearts and minds.
Dear Lord, thank You for inviting me to come to you with our fears and worries. Help me to release them to You today. Amen.
Have a blessed day. Gentle hugs to all of you. ?
