Hope-Filled Sunday!
Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.
For many people, January comes with new goals and big plans for the upcoming year. This time of year is often filled with hope for what’s to come. I’m sure I’m not the only one who approached this year (and perhaps 2021 and 2022, as well) with cautious optimism.
It’s likely that, in many cases, the past few years didn’t come close to going according to the plans you envisioned. I know that’s certainly the case for me. It’s okay to be upset if you feel that way, too. It’s also natural to question God or even wonder if He’s fallen asleep at the proverbial wheel.
It’s important to realize that bad things happen in life, but that doesn’t mean that
God isn’t listening or paying attention. He never promised us a life without pain or trials. Instead, He promised to be with us and to give us the strength to go on, no matter the circumstance.
As Jeremiah 29:11 states, God has plans for each one of us. He knows the future, whereas we only know this very moment. Share on X He promises us that He has plans for us, and they’re great plans designed to give us hope and a future. All we are asked to do is trust in those promises.
Lord, help us to never forget that Your plans are always for our good, even if we don’t understand them in the moment. Amen.
