Hope-filled Sunday!

Happy Sunday! Here’s another verse from my devotional book.

Matthew 11:28

Rest is a concept that often eludes me, though it’s something I long for, in fact. Somewhere along the line, I became fixated on the fact that I should always be doing something. Perhaps it’s because I live with chronic pain and illness, and there’s a part of me that believes I need to prove my worth to feel valued. However, that’s not how things work with God.

As a child of God, your value isn’t something you ever need to prove. He loves you because you’re you. And His offer to provide rest is something He freely offers to everyone.

For those who live with chronic pain and illness, it’s a common occurrence to feel weary or weighed down. In today’s passage, we’re reminded that Jesus will give us rest. We don’t have to run ourselves ragged to prove that we deserve it. It’s okay to just “be.” Resting our bodies and minds is allowed. Jesus does not want us to be overwhelmed, overburdened, or overworked. Share on X

So, what’s holding you back from accepting the rest that Jesus is offering you?

Have a blessed day. Gentle hugs to all of you. ?
