Hope-filled Sunday!Â
Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.
Have you ever received a new item that required assembly? Did you read the instruction manual that came with it? Or perhaps you’ve fumbled around trying to turn on the fog lights, adjust the mirrors and seat, or change the clock in your new vehicle. Did you check out the booklet? If you’re like a lot of people, you answered “no” to those questions. Perhaps you did go back and check out the instructions after you noticed that there were a lot of “extra” pieces when you thought you were finished or after you engaged the car alarm and couldn’t turn it off.
We often believe that we can figure things out on our own. We don’t need anyone, even an inanimate booklet, telling us how to do something. That doesn’t just stand true for product assembly. It often rings true for how we get through our daily lives, as well.
There’s another very important manual that we may overlook or forget to apply: the Bible. God has provided us a book of directions on how to navigate life. Share on X I’ve seen the following acronym on many occasions:
B – Basic
I-Instructions
B-Before you
L-Leave
E-Earth
The Bible does not give explicit instructions for every situation we encounter along the way. It does, however, provide guidelines that can fully equip us to live a Spirit-filled life. But it’s up to us to take the book off the shelf, read it, and apply it to our daily lives. By doing so, we’ll discover that the Bible is the lamp to our feet and a light to our paths, just as is states in Psalm 119.
Lord, thank You for Your Word, which can guide us as we apply it to our lives. Amen.
Have a blessed day. Gentle hugs to all of you. ?
