Hope-Filled Sunday!
Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.
Have you ever considered that love is an action word?
Most people are familiar with “Love is patient. Love is kind.” I’m sure those are words most people have heard at some point in time. But are they phrases you put into action—all year long, and not just at Valentine’s Day?
The holiday often comes with a lot of expectations. Valentine’s Day has been around a long time. Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, originated as a Christian feast day to honor a Christian martyr, Saint Valentine. Over the years, February 14th has become a popular (and commercialized) time to celebrate romance and love throughout the world. It seems like cards, chocolates, stuffed animals, and flowers are a requirement to demonstrate that someone cares for another.
1 Corinthians 13 is a popular chapter in the Bible. Today’s verse is frequently used in wedding ceremonies. It’s a beautiful verse, as it describes the perfect love God has for us and what we, through Him, can extend to others.
Love is an action word. And with God's perfect love, it's worth so much more than money could ever buy. Share on X So while it’s nice to give gifts to those we love (as well as receive them), it can never replace the simple expression of God’s love that is given daily … not just on Valentine’s Day.
Lord, please show me practical ways to demonstrate Your love to those around me. Amen.
Have a blessed day. Gentle hugs to all of you. ?
