Hope-filled Sunday!

Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.

I don’t know about you, but I admit that I’ve felt pretty overwhelmed, especially over the past year or so. As humans, it’s easy to feel that way. Society tells us we should stay busy. We’re connected 24/7. Day or night, we should be available to anyone. Right? Wrong!

Today’s verse is an important one, and it’s something I strive to do daily. Each morning, before the day has a chance to get busy and overwhelm me, I set aside time to read my Bible and devotions and, most importantly, to pray. (Though the latter is something I do throughout the day, as often as needed!)

In today’s verse, we can see that Jesus got up early to spend time with God. Mark 1:35 is a reminder that Jesus needed quiet time with His Father, and so do we. Share on X

Starting the day with God’s Word can make a huge difference. Even if it’s one of the only things you accomplish in the day, it’s enough. It gives you an opportunity to turn you cares over to the Lord and listen to what He wants to say. It’s a chance to place the day in His hands and allow Him to lead you through it. While this practice may not always ease your anxiety or make the day go perfectly smooth, it does give you the chance to do what’s most important first: spending time with the Lord.

There is no rule that says we’re obligated to be connected all day, every day. It  is possible to unplug. You are allowed to turn off your electronic devices. It’s okay to take a walk and enjoy nature. No one needs to give you permission to spend time with God. He has invited you to do so, and that’s more than enough.

Lord, thank You that I can come to you 24/7, without reservations, and follow Jesus’s lead of spending quiet time with You. Amen.

Have a blessed day. Gentle hugs to all of you. ?
