Hope-Filled Sunday!
Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.
The Perfect Gift. That’s what so many people are searching for as Christmas quickly approaches. And we should be seeking that perfect gift, but perhaps not in the way that some people imagine.
I love this time of year. It’s my favorite, in fact. However, I don’t love the busyness that seems to come with the holiday season which often makes it feel anything but blessed. The stress of the season can take our focus off the real meaning of Christmas.
Many people hurry around, spending multiple hours to get everything just right: the perfect gift, the best decorations, all the yummy treats, etc. But whatever we buy or whatever we do is really only momentary. Toys are quickly forgotten. Decorations are stored away until next year. Food is enjoyed then gone. There is no long-lasting value from these activities that we worked so hard to perfect.
The truth is, each of us already have the perfect gift, though we may not always recognize or appreciate it.
Every good and perfect gift comes from God. His gifts are eternal. And the most important gift was His precious son, Jesus Share on X. And there’s no gift we will ever be able to purchase that will even come close in comparison.Â
Lord, thank You for the perfect gift of Your Son, as well as eternal life with You. Amen.
