Hope-filled Sunday!
Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.
I’ve enjoyed writing as long as I can remember. And growing up, I wanted to be an author. I dreamed of seeing my name on the cover of a book. While I hoped it would happen, there was a part of me that never thought I’d see it come to pass. And it might not have if I hadn’t trusted the Lord.
I’ve been writing, in some form (poetry, reviews, and lyrics), for years (decades, in fact). But I’d never written a devotion until 2016 … when I received an email looking for devotional submissions for a compilation with Ellie Claire/Worthy Publishing. My finger pushed the button to show interest before my brain really had a chance to comprehend what my hand was doing. Fast forward a few years, and here I am, two days away from the release of my first (solo) devotional book!
I’ll admit that a book which discusses my own battle with chronic pain and illness was nothing I’d ever envisioned, but God has other plans for me. I never thought I’d share my story and struggles, but that’s exactly what God nudged me to do, and as a result, HOPE Amid the Pain was born.
It’s natural to question God at times and even wonder if He has a plan for us or if He’s left us to wing it alone. But the latter isn’t the case. We just have to be open to trusting God and allowing Him to be in control. Share on X Then our job is to follow His lead. Doing so can bring peace and clarity about the future. And His plans are always greater than the ones we can imagine for ourselves. I’m certainly proof of that!
Lord, thank You for the reminder that You know the dreams in my heart and I can trust You with them (and everything else). Amen.
Have a blessed day. Gentle hugs to all of you. ?
“And His plans are always greater than the ones we can imagine for ourselves.” Yes, this is so true! As it says in Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
This takes trust. But every day we trust people and things that are a lot smaller than our God. He is pleased when we trust in and rely on Him!
So true! We’re much better off putting our trust in God than anything else. And while our plans may be wonderful, He wants so much more for us than we can imagine. Have a blessed day, Brian!
