Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.

Life can be lonely. That’s particularly true when you live with chronic pain and illness. A lot of time is spent alone, and it’s often easier to isolate than try to explain to people what you’re going through or why you have to cancel your plans yet again. When too much time is spent alone, it’s all too easy to get down on yourself and dwell on the negatives. I know I’ve been in that situation on more than one occasion. Perhaps you can relate.

Loneliness, despair, and self-pity are not what Jesus wants for us. Share on XHe doesn’t want us to stay stuck or fixated on the mistaken belief that no one cares about what we’re going through.

When you start to notice yourself paying a bit too much attention to the enemy’s lies, think about today’s verse from Matthew. Remember that you’re not alone. Jesus is always with you, and He’s waiting—longing, in fact—to spend time with you. Without fail, He’ll always be there for you, “even to the end of the age.”

Lord, thank You that no matter what, You are always there for me. Amen.

Have a blessed day. Gentle hugs to all of you. ?

  1. Leslie-Thank you for your post. It is so important to know the Lord is with us always. I believe one of the enemy’s favorite tactics is to get us isolated and alone so that we can listen to and believe his lies more easily. I tell people not to “lone-wolf” it! I find that the men I visit with are particularly prone to “proving they can handle it,” not sharing their vulnerabilities, and trying to “go it alone.” I couldn’t agree with you more—that is not what God wants for us. Reach out to Him and to others!

    • You’re very welcome. I agree. Then enemy wants us to feel alone, making us more vulnerable. Thanks for stopping by, Brian. Have a blessed day!
