My review…
I’ve read many of Meyer’s books, and I never fail to be encouraged. Proverbs is one of my favorite books of the Bible, so I was excited to read this one.
The author addresses seven foundational principles found in the thirty-one chapters of Proverbs: wisdom, understanding, prudence, knowledge, discretion, discernment, and fear of the Lord. Meyer goes through each chapter of Proverbs, and she encourages the reader to read each one before diving in to her chapters.
As is typical with Meyer’s books, In Search of Wisdom is written in a way that the average person can understand what she’s saying. Proverbs is full of so much practical advice, and it offers advice on topics such as marriage, relationships, finances, handling offenses, parenting, friendship, etc. Meyer shares relatable stores to tie things from the Bible to everyday life. This would be a great group for personal use. It would also work well with a women’s small group, as it has a devotional feel to is.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.

I love Proverbs and all with wisdom and wise advice it has. This will be a great read!
Donna, I agree. It’s one of my favorite Books of the Bible. And I love Joyce’s insight, in general, so it’s a great combination. Good luck!
My favorite is Romans. <3
That’s a great one, as well. Some of my favorite verses are in Romans, such as Romans 8:37, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Good luck, Heather!
So many favorite books of the Bible-do I have to pick ONE??? I mean, there’s something for every situation. Psalms, I guess. But Proverbs, Romans, the gospel…
I understand, Candice! So hard to choose just one. It really just depends on the situation. Good luck!
My favorite book of the Bible is Psalms because I love poetry, and I am inspired by David’s honesty and heartfelt words as he communicates with the Lord. Thank you for the opportunity to win this book. It sounds like a great devotional. :0}
June, Psalms is such a wonderful book. I, too, love poetry. I love how the Psalms often start with David questioning or crying out, and then they end with David praising. Still so relevant today.
Good luck!
I’ve been reading Sarah Young’s books, and through her work I have found new meaning for my life in Psalms and Proverbs. Therefore, I can’t just choose one book to be my favorite.
Both are wonderful books, Danielle. I’m glad you’ve found new meaning in them and for your life. Good luck!
My favorite book in the Bible is Philippians.
If I had to choose, I’d probably narrow my favorite down to Philippians, as well, Roxanne. Good luck!
