Life with Chronic Pain and Illness
Today’s life with chronic pain and illness post is about something that many people with chronic pain and illness live with on a daily basis: brain fog.
Â
Brain fog, also known as cognitive dysfunction, can have a huge impact on one’s quality of life. It can impair daily functioning. Even the tiniest tasks, which we’ve been doing for years, can feel impossible to do.
Â
The symptoms are real and debilitating. And they can last for minutes, days, weeks, months, or even years. They can also get worse. If you deal with brain fog, you may notice loss of mental clarity, word finding difficulties, problems concentrating, difficulty staying focused, clumsiness, etc.
In itself, brain fog is a symptom, not a diagnosis or a disease. It goes along with many chronic illnesses, and he can even be a side effect of some medication.
I live with brain fog, and it is no fun. Some days, it literally feels like I am losing my mind. Other times, it just makes me feel totally stupid, such as when I am having word finding difficulties.
Â
Do you live with brain fog? If so, you are certainly not alone. Are there any strategies you have found that help you? Please feel free to share as your tips could be helpful to others.
Â
I hope you have a low-pain day.Â
