Life with Chronic Pain and Illness

Today’s Life with Chronic Pain and Illness tip is one that’s important for everyone to remember: Don’t believe the lies!

The enemy works hard to throw us off our game and make us believe all kinds of lies that are contrary to God's truths. Share on X And when you live with chronic pain and illness, the enemy uses your own body to try and convince you that his lies are truths. For instance:

  • You’re a burden.
  • You’re broken.
  • You’re weak.

These are all lies you’ve likely believed at some point in your life … and perhaps you still do. I know these cross my mind on an all too regular basis, particularly on the flare-up days. To be honest, I’ve been struggling in this area a lot lately, as I’ve been in near constant flare-ups for far too long. I’ve had to work hard to keep myself from going down the rabbit hole the enemy is placing before me.  I regularly listen to worship music to help remind myself not to listen to the lies, since God’s truths tell me otherwise. Here are some of those truths to keep in mind:

  • You are stronger than you think. (Phil 4:13)
  • You are a child of God. (Ps. 82:6)
  • You are an overcomer. (Rom. 8:37)

And as my jacket states,  I’m not a burden or broken or weak. I’m a chronic illness warrior … and so are you!

I hope you have a blessed, low-pain day.
