Life with Chronic Pain and Illness
Life with chronic pain and illness is hard. It’s tiring. And it’s even worse because you have to fight your own body every day.
Fighting pain is hard work. Share on X And for those of us who live with daily pain, there is never a chance for our bodies and minds to take a rest from that fight. Trying to stay one step ahead of the pain is draining. And that is without daily demands of life, such as a job, raising kids, etc. When they are combined, it is no surprise that exhaustion and frustration occurs. We go into survival mode, trying to conserve spoons (energy) to do the bare necessities to get through the moment.
Over the years, I have found that there’s only one way I can get through the day, and that’s with the Lord by my side. It’s certainly not on my own strength! Will I always get everything done that I want to get done? Nope. Will I continue to be too hard on myself? Probably. Am I still a work in progress? You bet. But will the Lord still love me? Definitely! And the same is true for you, too.
I pray that each of us is able to feel the Lord’s presence and daily encouragement to cling to Him. We are not alone in this fight!
I hope you have a blessed, low-pain day.
