Life with Chronic Pain and Illness
Life with chronic pain and illness is hard!
I was trying to come up with a title for this post. I explained a bit of what I wanted to say to my husband, and he came up with a title that got right to the point: Life with chronic pain and illness is hard! Share on X I paused and then said, “You know, that pretty much sums it up!” And this graphic does, as well.
That image is pretty spot-on in describing what I go through Every. Single. Night. Only it needs to mention bursitis, muscle spasms, tendon and joint pain, burning sensations from nerve issues, a pillow that felt perfect last night that now feels like a rock, etc. (Meanwhile, my husband gets in one position and may stay there the entire evening! Sigh.) The unpredictability, combined with the chronic (meaning: always there!) nature, can be a difficult concept for people to grasp, as well as extremely challenging to try and manage and live with on a daily basis. Finding providers who are knowledgeable, or at least willing to step outside the box and learn about your condition and listen to you, makes it even harder.
Thankfully, as a Christian, I know I have Jesus on my side. While He hasn’t chosen to cure me as I’ve seen him do with others, He does give me frequent reminders to let me know He hasn’t abandoned me. I know I wouldn’t have made it this far without Him.
I hope you have a blessed, low-pain day.
