Life with Chronic Pain and Illness
Today’s Life with Chronic Pain and Illness reminder is one that many people, particularly those with chronic pain and illness, will be able to relate to: You know you live with chronic pain and illness when you know your pharmacist's name and number by heart! Share on X
I don’t know about you, but I love my pharmacist! Good thing, as I see her on a regular basis. (Well, technically, there are three pharmacists that rotate duty. While they’re all nice, I certainly have my favorite.) She’s super knowledgeable, friendly, and always has a smile on her face when she greets me at the counter. She’s also patient with my questions (thankfully, as I have a lot of them!). And, boy, is she missed when she’s on vacation!
When you live with a chronic illness, it’s important to have knowledgeable people involved in your care. For many people, this includes a number of doctors/specialists. Sadly, sometimes those people can be less than helpful. At one time, and in some countries, patients go to the pharmacist (or chemist, as they’re often called in England) for many medical questions and concerns. Those with chronic illness may take multiple medications, which could include possible interactions, pharmacists are an invaluable resource.
So, if you have a pharmacist who takes their time to answer your questions and is as happy to see you as you are to see them, let them know! I’m sure they’ll appreciate it.
I hope you have a blessed, low-pain day.
