Life with chronic pain and illness may mean that it’s necessary to put ourselves first. And doing so isn’t selfish, despite what we may be made to believe.
It's not selfish to listen to your body treat it kindly. Share on X (And that’s true for people who don’t live with chronic pain and illness, too!) It’s okay if you need to cancel an event or put off an activity until another day. It’s also okay to take a break, or even a nap, as needed. To mindlessly bingewatch shows that make you laugh. To listen to music that makes you happy. To meditate, take a walk, color, etc. To show yourself some grace. It’s okay to take time for you!
