Life with Chronic Pain and Illness
You are a warrior!!
What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see someone full of potential, someone loved, and someone who is extremely strong? Or do you see someone who is broken or a burden?
If you’re like many people, even those who don’t live with chronic pain and illness, you are more likely to see the negatives—the parts of you that you wish you could change. But that’s not what you are … not even close!
You may live with chronic pain and illness, but you are a warrior! Here are a few reasons why:
- You do everything in pain, including daily tasks, work/school, and caring for yourself and possibly others.
- You multitask to manage your illness, which includes things like scheduling/attending doctor appointments, medications, and navigating insurance.
- You battle a variety of symptoms, such as chronic fatigue, constant pain, and brain fog.
- You have to make peace with missing out on opportunities you hate to miss, like seeing family and friends, going on vacation, and participating in activities you once enjoyed.
- You adjust to ever-changing lifestyle changes, including mobility aids and dietary changes.
See? You’re definitely a warrior! And thankfully, you don’t need to go through it alone. The Lord is with you and cheering you on each day … and so am I!
Do you see yourself as a warrior? Is there anything you could add to the above list? Feel free to share it in the comments.
I hope you have a low-pain day.
