Saddleback Leather Tumbled Fanny Bag Review
I admit that prior to a few weeks ago, I’ve never heard of Saddleback Leather. Before I share about the product I received for review, let me tell you a bit about the company:
Saddleback Leather is not simply a brand. It is the realization of one man’s vision to build leather goods so durable and purposeful that they become part of your story. The company was founded in Texas. They are known for using full-grain leather, rugged construction, and no breakable parts. Their promise is bold: “They’ll fight over it when you’re dead.” It takes confidence to make such a claim! Here’s the link to their website, if you’d like to learn more about the company’s story.
Saddleback Leather has a variety of items, such as backpacks, messenger bags, briefcases, belts, boots, and even wallets. Something I found that I believe is very unique is their 100-year warranty. That sure says a lot about the quality of their designs and materials! You can learn more about that amazing warranty here.
I also love that Saddleback Leather has a commitment to faith, service, and community. They have something called the Love 41 initiative that help care for those who are vulnerable and marginalized. You can learn more here.
Once I learned all this, I was quite interested in checking out Saddleback Leather’s products.
As someone who lives with chronic pain and illness, I’m always interested in products that can help decrease my pain, even just a bit. So I was excited to have the opportunity to review this leather bag from Saddleback Leather. It can be used as a fanny pack or a crossbody bag.
The leather is soft yet sturdy. There is a large middle pocket, as well as a small pocket on the front and back of the bag. The strap is adjustable and quite comfortable. The hooks are large, which is nice, but they’re a bit difficult for me to open. This might be a problem for some others as well, particularly if you have arthritis or other issues with your fingers/hands/wrists. I am hoping that, with use, the hooks get easier to open. I really appreciate the quality of the hooks and strap.
The inside is one giant pocket. There’s enough room for many common necessities (such as a wallet, cellphone, medicine, and keys), and there’s still room for a book or two, as well! Another option is to purchase an organizer to put in this section to keep things a bit more organized.
If you’re looking for a simplified bag for a short trip out, this is a perfect option. And it’s available in three colors: chestnut, dark chocolate, and tobacco.
As an avid reader, I own numerous books. Many fit in this bag, but I did find some that were a bit too large, so please note the measurements of this bag. Books that are the size of mass-media paperbacks fit nicely, and depending on what else you have in the bag, you may be able to fit more than one! You can find product information, including the dimensions, here.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the fanny bag. I was a bit surprised that the interior was unlined, but the product description mentions that the reason for that is to lighten the bag’s weight. That’s a nice feature, as is the fact that the style allows you to carry what you need all while keeping your hands free. Also according to the description, this bag contains antique brass hardware, a leather pull tab, and a Spanish zipper. These all combine to make a lovely bag that will last for years.
If you’d like to pick up one of these lovely, well-crafted fanny bags, here’s the link to do so.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary product (from Front Gate Media and Saddleback Leather), but I was not required to leave a positive review.
