Welcome to Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement.
I am blessed to be part of a group of bloggers who’ll be sharing a bit of encouragement through Scripture verses. I hope this post blesses you as you finish the week and that you find peace, strength, and comfort in the Lord.
This month, my focus will be on Deuteronomy. Today, I’m sharing a devotion about Deuteronomy 31:6.
This is a powerful verse. In Deuteronomy, God challenged the Israelites, His beloved people, to be strong and courageous. Just like He did for them, He equipped us with the Holy Spirit to guide us and support us.Â
Do you feel called to do something for God but are hesitant to move forward? What’s stopping you? Is it fear? If so, you’re not alone.Â
Fear holds many people back from doing what God’s called them to do. This verse is a reminder that it’s okay to step out in faith. God has your back! The Christian life is a walk of faith—stepping forward in obedience in what they are called to do. Fear and anxiety often go hand in hand. And the antidote to both of them is faith! Share on X
Reread this verse as often as necessary. Let it sink into your being that courage comes from faith, and they’re both gifts from God. Take that step of faith today. God will be right there with you.

Fear had a hold on my life for a long time, I’m not completely out of the woods but by Faith, I’m not where I once was and Jesus has made all the difference.
Keneesha, I understand. It’s had a grip on me for years, and everything that’s happened this year has heightened it, a bit. I’m still a work in progress, but I’m thankful that I’m no longer where I used to be. As you stated, Jesus and faith make all the difference.
Have a blessed day!
FEAR can be a huge factor in NOT allowing persons to enjoy the Power from Within. I was taught very early there are only TWO natural Fears (Loud Noise and Heights), and the rest are all social constructs, so they do not exist in my mindset
Interesting, Chuck. I never heard it quite like that before. Thanks for sharing.
Fear rears it’s ugly head at times with me but mostly what keeps me from doing what I should such as saying I’m in the wrong is pride. Could it be pride is the root of fear???Something I need to search out. Good reminder.
Good point. That’s definitely something to consider.
Glad you enjoyed the reminder/post. Thanks for stopping by, Betty.
