Welcome to Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement.
I am blessed to be part of a group of bloggers who’ll be sharing a bit of encouragement through Scripture verses. I hope this post blesses you as you finish the week and that you find peace, strength, and comfort in the Lord.
This month, my focus will be on Joshua. Today, I’m sharing a devotion about Joshua 1:9.
Joshua was afraid. The Lord knew that, and He reassured Him by reminding Joshua that he wasn’t alone. The Lord was with Him. That reminder wasn’t just for Joshua. It’s for us, too.
It's all to easy to be fearful or and feel alone at times. But we need not worry, for the Lord is always with us. Share on XJoshua drew his strength from the Lord, and we can do the same. When we immerse ourselves in the Word of God and meditate on it, we’re activating the power and promises of God. So we can go about our days strong and confident, knowing that we’re not alone and ready to face whatever may come our way.

A straightforward and encouraging read!
I was especially blessed by the line “Joshua drew his strength from the Lord. We can do the same.”
Thank you so much. 🙂

Drawing our strength from the Lord is so important especially on hard days.
I agree, Evangeline!
I love Joshua 1:8; it is one of my favorite verses.
To your question, I will go with Jeremiah 1:5; I prayed about it this morning, and indeed it was the soothing balm I needed
That’s a great verse, as well. Thanks for sharing! Have a blessed day!
Leslie, Love this verse from Joshua. It is so reassuring and I love the words of God that He would be with Joshua (and us) wherever we go. When you start to think about the fullness of what that means – it is so comforting!
I agree, Pam. Such a comforting reminder!

Thanks, Mary!
Psalms 18:30 is encouraging me today. And really every day! It is my life verse. It reminds me that no other way to live is better than God’s way. God’s way is perfect for any area of life. And His Word is tried, proven, trustworthy!
That’s a great verse, Teresa. Thanks for sharing!

You’re welcome, Ava! Yes, it’s great to know that we can go to God any time, any place, and for any reason.
“When we immerse ourselves in the Word of God and meditate on it, we’re activating the power and promises of God.” YES!! When we open our bibles and receive what we are reading, we activate POWER! Love that!
Thanks, Nicci. There is definitely power in His Word!
Joshua’s example is incredible. He trusted God, and God was (and is!) so faithful!
