Welcome to Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement.
I am blessed to be part of a group of bloggers who’ll be sharing a bit of encouragement through Scripture verses. I hope this post blesses you as you finish the week and that you find peace, strength, and comfort in the Lord.
Today, I’m sharing a devotion about Judges 16:28.
Samson was a man of strong faith who knew his strength came from God. Our strength comes from Him, as well.
Life is hard … for everyone. And for those living with chronic pain and illness, the challenges seem to quickly pile one on top of the other. Some days, it’s difficult to do the most basic tasks. Days may seem dark, and it may feel that no one cares or understands.
Dear friend, you’re not alone. There are many people in the Bible who felt this same way. Job lost everything. Paul was jailed, whipped, and shipwrecked. It’s quite likely they wondered when their troubles would stop. Christ followers aren’t immune from life’s challenges. Even Jesus didn’t get a free pass. But despite their circumstances, Job, Paul, and Jesus had something in common: their faith was in God.
It’s easy to become overwhelmed and feel alone. But that’s not truly the case. The Lord is always with us, never more than a prayer call away. Share on X Like Samson did in today’s verse, we can reach out to God. He will be there, providing the strength we need to get through the next moment. And He’ll be there for the ones after that, as well. All we have to do is ask.

I’m so thankful God provides strength when I need it! Life can be so hard! His strength is perfect!
I agree, Gina. I know that I wouldn’t make it though any day without His assistance. Blessings your way!
What a great reminder! Prayer is like a phone call with Jesus. I love that. ?
Thanks! It’s actually a line I use in my devotional book 🙂
