Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement #27

Welcome to Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement.

I am blessed to be part of a group of bloggers who’ll be sharing a bit of encouragement through Scripture verses. I hope this post blesses you as you finish the week and that you find peace, strength, and comfort in the Lord.

Today, I’m sharing a devotion about Ruth 1:16.

Ruth 1:16

Ruth is one of my favorite books of the Bible. Themes of faith, redemption, and discipleship resonate throughout Ruth.

She was a woman of great faith. By choosing to go with Naomi, she demonstrated great faith in God. Redemption is shown in the way the Moabites came to trust the God of Israel. True discipleship is when Ruth declares her commitment to Naomi. That declaration cost Ruth her home, family, friends, religion, and country.

Ruth demonstrates that God doesn’t discriminate. God doesn't discriminate. He views all His people as important. That's a wonderful reminder for all of us. Share on X

Ruth valued her relationship with Naomi and God, even though it cost her almost everything else. Is there anything that would give you pause to leave behind, even if it’s to follow the Lord?
