Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement #28

Welcome to Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement.

I am blessed to be part of a group of bloggers who’ll be sharing a bit of encouragement through Scripture verses. I hope this post blesses you as you finish the week and that you find peace, strength, and comfort in the Lord.

Today, I’m sharing a devotion about Ruth 3:5.

Ruth 3:5 - "I will do whatever you say," Ruth answered.

This chapter of Ruth is reminiscent of a mother looking at a man as a possible husband for her daughter. Naomi wanted the best for Ruth, so Naomi set things in motion for Ruth to connect with Boaz. Ruth trusted Naomi. Ruth respected Naomi, and, as a result, she followed Ruth’s direction. She didn’t resent her for interfering or try to push Naomi away.

How would you have reacted if you had been in Ruth’s position? Would you trust her and believe that she had your best interests in mind? These same questions can be asked about your relationship with God, as well. Are you open to His direction, trusting that everything He does works together for your good? If not, take a few moments to ponder why. What would it take for you to respond to God the way Ruth responded to Naomi: I will do whatever you say? Share on X

What Scripture is encouraging you today? Share it in the comments.
