Welcome to Thankful Thursday: His Encouragement. I am blessed to be part of a group of bloggers who’ll be sharing a bit of encouragement through Scripture verses. I hope this post blesses you as you finish the week and that you find peace, strength, and comfort in the Lord.
I’m a worrier–about just about everything, unfortunately. I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember. Logically, I know that most of the things I worry about are beyond my control. My worries rarely change things, and many of the situations I stress about never come to pass. I’m better than I used to be at turning my worries into prayers and then releasing them to God. However, I’m still a work in progress.
As is evidenced in today’s verse, worrying takes our focus off the One who deserves our attention: the Lord. Mary chose correctly when she focused on the Lord instead of the little details Martha was worried and upset about.
I pray that each day I become more like Mary, and I thank God for His patience with me.

I am often a worrier too but I find verses like this a comfort. Thanks for sharing <3
You’re welcome, Becca. I’m glad you find it comforting, as well.
Love your post today. This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. I. too, can worry up a storm. Thank you for the reminder to keep my eyes on God!
You’re welcome. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who struggles with this.
