Tuesday Tip
Today’s Tuesday Tip is one that those living with chronic pain and illness understands, but those who don’t may not: Just because someone tries to remain positive, it doesn’t mean they’re “cured” or no longer in pain.
People who have chronic pain and illness know it's just that: chronic. It's always there. Share on X But they also know that negative thinking doesn’t fix anything. In fact, it can make things worse, such as tenser muscles which can lead to increased pain. Instead, it’s more productive to remain as positive as possible and focus on the daily blessings that are still there, amid the pain.
I admit that some days are easier than others. But I never fail to find something to be grateful for each day. (In fact, I keep a daily gratitude journal where I write them down. This makes it handy to go back and look things over when I’m in the middle of a flare-up, struggling to stay positive.) Having an attitude of gratitude is also easier when I remember that God still has a purpose for me. And if you’re reading this, He still has plans for you, too. Does that fact automatically erase the pain? No, but it helps me remember that I’m not alone in the battle … and neither are you.
I hope you have a blessed, low-pain day.
