Tuesday Tip
Today’s Tuesday Tip: You are not difficult or demanding just because you advocate for yourself. You have a right to receive effective care, and you have a right to speak up about it.
As you may have noticed, my last few posts have had a similar theme: self-advocacy. That’s because it’s so important, and I’m seeing more and more people who are struggling with this (myself included) and more and more situations requiring people to do so.
Advocating for oneself doesn’t mean you’re asking for special privileges. You are just asking to be heard. It’s exhausting, but it’s extremely important. I’m praying that you are not put in a situation where you have to advocate for yourself, but I’m praying that you have the courage to do so, should the need arise.
I hope you have a low-pain day. Gentle hugs your way.

I’ve had to do this a few times. Sometimes I felt guilty, but I felt it was necessary. We know our bodies better than anyone else. Especially when its something others thought I should do, but I knew physically I couldn’t. Joy
So true! It’s not easy, but it is definitely needed. Sending prayers your way for a low-pain day, Joy.
