Tuesday Blessings
We are made in the image of God.
There’s a song I’ve been hearing a lot over the past two or three months. And I know that it’s no coincidence. Instead, it is a message I need to hear, and perhaps it’s one you need to hear, as well.Â
“The Truth” by Megan Woods is a powerful song with an important message — one the enemy wants to prevent us from believing or remembering. He wants us to believe the lies he throws our way that lead to fear, doubt, insecurity, and a host of all other negative things. And some days, he succeeds.
It’s easy to get down on ourselves, particularly for those of us who live with chronic pain and illness. We may not be able to do the things we used to do or do as much as we would like to, and that may be even more apparent during the holidays. We may start to feel less than or even that we are burden to our friends and loved ones.
In these situations, it’s even more important to know God’s truths and what He says about us … and to never forget who He says we are. For instance:
- We are made in the image of God.
- We are God’s children.
- We make Him proud.
- God loves us just as we are.Â
- We are loved unconditionally.
These are the truths. Don’t let anyone (even your own mind) try to convince you otherwise. When the enemy tries to inundate you with lies, lean into God’s Word. Listen for His still, small voice. Then cling to Him.
