What’s So Good About Good Friday?
While I’m very familiar with pain, I can’t even begin to imagine the pain Jesus experienced when He was crucified alongside the criminals hanging beside Him, the weight of the world and their sins crushing His spirit.
In Matthew 27:46, He cries out to His Father, “Why have you forsaken me?” He feels totally abandoned.
I'm sure all of us have felt abandoned by God at one point or another, possibly crying out and questioning Him on things we don't understand. Share on XSince Jesus suffered on the cross, He understands how we feel when we are suffering. He feels our pain. He knows our doubts. He also knows how much we need hope and to be reassured that there is a reason for everything, a light at the end of the tunnel. He is with us, always.
So while that Friday many, many years ago wasn’t necessarily “good” for Jesus, it was for us. That Friday is what led to His death and resurrection, which resulted in our salvation … making it a Good Friday, indeed!
Lord, I can never thank You enough for the sacrifice You made for me. Amen.
Amen! Thank you Jesus!
Great explanation Leslie, as I have thought several times, wh is it called Good Friday when it is the day Jesus died? It led to fulfillment of God’s good plan, and as you say here, that is Good News fir us!
Amen, indeed, Brian!
Amen!
Indeed!
Amen and Amen!
Amen indeed!
