My review of the book…

I’ve only recently heard of this book, as well as the software. As a writer, I was happy to have the chance to review both.

This book contains information that will be beneficial for writers of all levels, from beginner to experienced.

Popular novels are used throughout at examples, and there are descriptions of ten different genres to help you determine which is the best fit for your book. There are chapters specific to each of those ten all genres. The author breaks the information down into manageable points. And there is a little bit of everything included, from writing the book to pitches, agents, and even the dreaded synopsis.

This could be a great resource for plotters or pantsers, as it is full of practical advice and real-life examples. Some things are a bit repetitive, but that doesn’t take away from the benefits gained from reading and utilizing this book.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.

My review of the software…
The software is a nice compliment to the book. It’s like a digital corkboard for your notes and writing. There are places for titles, log-lines, notecards (for scenes, research information, URLs, etc.) You can “pin” things to the corkboard as desired.
A help section and a user’s guide are included that will help walk the user through things and answer basic, common questions.
Things are structured so things can be organized by chapter or series, and it’s designed to be used for novels, movies, or TV shows.
A subscription is required, but this could be a great resource for any writer.
