Hope-Filled Sunday!

HOPE Amid the Pain header

Happy Sunday! Here’s some encouragement for your week.

Peace. Calm. Comfort. Don’t those sound wonderful? They evoke such a wonderful image—one I’d like to experience regularly. So when I saw an ad for a free-year trial of a meditation app, I figured, “What do I have to lose?” So I downloaded it. Now, it’s right at my fingertips, and I even set myself a reminder to use it daily. There are a variety of guided exercises, which focus on things like guided meditations and deep breathing. While nothing on it that I’ve tried so far is new to me or earth-shattering, it is one more option to use during times when I’m feeling stressed, fearful, excited, etc.

The fact that there are so many items out there (from apps on our phones to videos on our computers) that are designed to help bring the user calm, comfort, peace, and contentment speaks to the fact that we, as a society, are anxious. Stress. In desperate need for getting a grip on our various emotions. And it’s quite likely, for most people, that if they give these apps and videos a try, they will find at least one activity that brings some short-term benefit. But what if you're searching for something that will give you long-lasting peace? Well, there's an option for that, too: God! Click To Tweet

He would love to be the go-to option for you when you need a sense of calm, comfort, peace, or contentment. No free trial period is needed, as God is available to us 24/7, 365. All you need to do is reach out to Him.

Lord, thank You that I can come to You at any time, and You can calm my anxious mind. Amen.
