Thoughts from Amy Clipston…

I’m thrilled to share my Christmas novella, “A Perfectly Splendid Christmas,” which is a spinoff of my first contemporary romance, The Heart of Splendid Lake! This novella gave me a chance to take my readers back to my beloved fictional town of Splendid Lake, NC, where Kacey returns to help her older sister run her bakery. Drew, her former classmate, who is a music teacher, is the substitute children’s choir director and is preparing for the Christmas festival. When he and Kacey are reunited, they recall how they both regret that they never dated. I hope my readers enjoy another story set in Splendid Lake. I dedicated this story to my sons, Zac and Matt.

About the book…

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, anything can happen.

In this glittering and heartwarming collection, three of today’s bestselling sweet romance novelists offer up the gift of cheer for the winter holiday season.

A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts

Darby doesn’t want to go home for the holidays, but a career fail sends her slinking back to the small town she always wanted to escape. No one there is especially glad to see the former mean girl—especially not her sister, Erica, or childhood best friend, Gregory. Darby is working hard to be a better person, but has she eaten enough humble pie to make amends?

Dashing Through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson

When Willow’s boyfriend of seven years dumps her on the eve of a romantic getaway, she decides to take the two-week train trip on The Christmas Express alone. Hurt as she feels, she can’t anticipate how the hilarious rebound ride with conductor Oliver, elf Ian, and aging world adventurer Clarence will heal her heart—and renew her sense of worth.

A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston

Kacey adores the metropolitan life, but when she gets away to help her sister during a family crisis and run her bakery, she falls in love with former classmate Drew. The problem: he’s a small-town man, and she’s a big-city woman. Is their love big enough to overcome such a major difference?

Curl up with your favorite holiday drink and sink into three worlds where dreams once thought long-gone are still within reach.

My review…

3.5 stories

These are three contemporary romance (clean reads) novellas in this charming Christmas-themed collection. Each story can stand alone, as there are no carry over characters, other than the fact that all the stories have relatable and believable characters. The three holiday novellas will help the reader get in the holiday spirit (and it’s never too soon for that!). The stories are short and sweet, so they can easily fit into a busy schedule.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.

I’m a classic children’s Christmas girl and still enjoy How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

  2. Linda May

A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite stories and movies. I would love a chance to win this book. Thanks for your great generosity.

  3. Emma

On the Way to Christmas” (novella collection) sounds wonderful. I would love a chance to win this book. Thanks for the chance. I love holiday movies.

  4. Doris H Lankford

I love Christmas stories and I read them all year long. I would have a hard time picking just one.

  5. Joan

Amy Clipston is the only one of these three authors I have read. I love to find new authors! And what is better than a Christmas story? (smile)

  6. Megan

Thanks for the chance to win. I love Christmas novellas. They’re the perfect length during a busy time of year and they help one get in the Christmas mindset.

    • You’re welcome. I agree. I love novellas for that same reason (even more so when they’re Christmas stories). Good luck, Megan!

  7. Roxanne C.

I prefer to read Christmas novella collections during the busiest part of the holiday season because I can enjoy a story during a lull. On the Way to Christmas sounds like it has a great selection.

  8. Linda

My favorite Christmas-themed story is the “Reason for the season…” the story of the birth of Jesus. It seems this story gets lost in all the twinkling lights, decorations, prettily wrapped gifts and warm fuzzy feelings. Nothing wrong with those things in their proper place, but when they take front and center and masquerade as THE reason for Christmas, we’ve missed Christmas.

    • I agree. Sometimes the commercialism takes over. It’s important to remember the reason for the season: Jesus!

      Good luck, Linda.

  9. Vickie Waters

These stories sound like they would definitely get me in the Christmas spirit. That would be nice, as the holiday can sometimes be too overwhelming with so much to do! I also like the idea of three novellas in one book.

  10. Linda Tucker

I not sure but think I have read Amy and Sheila. I like Christmas stories but for the cooler weather to read them usually. Thank you for the chance.

  11. Teri DiVincenzo

Christmas books and movies are so magical and special! I love this time of year!

  12. Lauralee Hensley

I love reading THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS in a story book format with great nieces and nephews. On a more grown up, there are too many really great Christmas stories to pick only one as a favorite.

    • I agree that it’s hard to choose a favorite. I’m glad you have that special time with your great nieces and nephews. Good luck, Lauralee.
